Following Fears to Resilience
Natasha Rothwell (writer, actor, comedian) followed her fear of dying alone, which birthed her newest project.
If you know of Rothwell then you worship her like me, and if you don’t, dig in here. I have a few friends who came up in the NYC improv scene with her and concur she’s the real deal.
What spoke to me most in this article is her honesty about personal insecurities and anxieties. How she recognizes them and instead of letting them be obstacles to her goals, they serve as catalysts.
And I love how she leans into her fears to fuel her resilience.
I'm reminded that lowercase ‘follow the fear’ became my life philosophy after a personal loss.
To get through that tough time I tried new activities that scared me including snowboarding, dating again, and improvisational comedy.
In honor of my monthly newsletter’s name, I’m kicking off a series of micro-exercises to give us permission to focus on our fears. So we can be better leaders in and outside of work…
